SAN FRANCISCO AREA
Thanksgiving
We had celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving, the 2nd Monday in October 2005, with Sandra's family. Now we were invited to an American Thanksgiving by Peter's sister Anne at their old family home at 2120 Alameda Ave. Rod had spent lots of happy times in this house with Peter's family when they were young, and now it was Anne's home. It was a poignant time for the family as Anne & Peter's brother Paul had recently died, and their brother John was visiting from New York state. But everyone put on a brave front and we had a lovely time with them all.
Here's John and Peter with nibblies in Anne's back yard.
Here we are under the canopy in the pretty yard. Anne is to Peter's left.
We played a game of throwing large coins & trying to hit the frog's open mouth.
Buddy & Anne's little poodle had fun romping around together.
The whole family gathered around the table, and had a sumptuous turkey & ham dinner, with all the trimmings. After dinner, we sat around the livingroom and "chewed the fat", discussing old times, etc.
Later in the evening, Anne, Dianne and I had a swim in the new backyard pool, and a soak in the whirlpool. A great ending to a special day.
