One of Sandra's greatest pleasures on the trip was meeting Rod's two cousins. The first was Joel, who toured us through his retreat home in the Delta. He and Rod hadn't seen each other for many years. They are a great pair of guys, whose kindness and humour are a pleasure to be around.
Then we all went to Joel's home in Sacramento to meet his charming wife, Jane, and sweet daughter, Katherine.
We shared a tasty dinner and photographs of bygone days, and they helped Sandra to know the Mell clan so much better (we now have caps from a Mell gathering), as they are the first relatives of my new husband that I've met. It was a great evening, and even included a little dog to play with Buddy. A memorable time.
